Obama's inauguration

Some people seem to have been quite excited by this and even spent some time watching it on television. The appeal was a bit of a mystery to me, until my mother spoke to me about it this morning.

It was very impressive she said. Just like a coronation.

Was that what it really was, or at least the closest thing possible in a republic?

Either way I thought it rather funny.

i'm one of those who stayed up and watched it, at least up until the speech when i realised obama doesn't have to get up for work tomorrow but i do :) it WAS rather grand and i suppose the significance is historical - people will talk about seeing the first black president of the US being inaugurated 50 years from now. that's probably what the fuss was all about.

agreed with PP. Its just the feeling that I was up watching it live while a historical event took place. We missed the moon landing, the dream speech, even the frikking flower power years...so this is beyond cool. :D

Totally agree with Dee. It's like, damn I'm watching something that's gonna go down in history. :D

Heh he. Looks like Santhoshi, Dee and PP could add Obama Inauguration to “So, this is Christmas ver. 09”
Witnessing history being made.

But as somebody commented , even Obama seemed have caught up on the Satake mania....And then he has to catch up on a few more things
