The palace of the people
Is a curving glass affair
A vaulted crystal ceiling
With a spiral circuit stair
People walk in twos and threes
Above the parliament
People curving round the stair
Contemplate government
While outside random walkers walk
In lines and no array
Cursing all the empty talk
And wend their solitary way.

Omigosh, I'm no poet, the poetry is by a chap called A. David.
is he a german? description sounds like the german parliament(what do you call it?)? but applies to all of them.
The Bundestag?
Well, yes, he does live in Germany at the moment, not sure ifthe poem was inspired by it...
yes, bundestag. it has that glass dome with a spiral staircase( or rather a walkway) going around it inside. i haven't seen it myself however, except on tv.
parliaments world over are same it seems. :-).
